SCENE 11

INT – UTOPIAN: MORTAL SPHERE: JETTI’S DWELLING

Jetti pivots to step out of the entrance threshold and closes the door behind her as she continues in her steps toward the living area. The file folder remains lying in the same place on the coffee table. Jetti sits down on the couch where she sat during the meeting. As she sits, she grabs the folder, opens it, glances at the page, and then closes it quickly while abruptly leaning back with a forceful exhale. After a pause, her eyes suddenly shift to her desk. After a second pause, she stands with purpose and walks over to her desk drawer. Sliding it open, the camera captures a glass contained, centuries old news article with Ulin’s photo on it and a headline that reads, “Rift-Storm Simulator Acknowledgements”. Lifting the encased article out of the drawer, she sets it on the desk’s surface and sits down.

The camera captures a semi-close up of Jetti sitting off to the right of the microphone switch. With the switch in center focus, Jetti flips it up to the on position. An overlay of images envelops the scene: Jetti is faintly seen behind a white haze that creates a backdrop for her faintly detailed memories. The Rift-Storm simulator control room slightly emerges. Regent High Trainer Zelyvry is seen handing out the last sheet of information to a group of female trainees dressed in their simulation protective armor. Jetti is among the trainees. Zelyvry is talking, but is not heard. She gesticulates, emphasizing the points that Jetti is narrating; as though Zelyvry is teaching the very lesson to Jetti.

Jetti (calm and reflective):

"It is human nature to listen to logic, to trust the conscience, and to follow what persuades us emotionally. But none of them lead without error."

As Jetti concludes her narrated statement, the control room fades out and the Rift-Storm arena fades in. Narration continues with a memory of herself standing in the starting position for the simulation. The ambient noise of her present dwelling fades and the sound of rain fades in. Upon seeing the simulator’s rain, she gives a grimace and then swats her helmet visor closed.

Jetti (calm and reflective):

"When we trust them above the Supreme, they become our ruler, feeding us with faulty directions, excuses, and justifications that ultimately lead us straight into destruction."

As narration continues, Jetti begins to navigate the Rift-Storm in her memory. She pauses momentarily and touches her audio cord, showing that she’s listening. Her purposeful head movements show focus.

Jetti (calm and reflective):

"That is why the Rift-Storm simulator was created. It was about listening, focusing, and following the Supreme as he guides you into all truth."

As she maneuvers through the course, a soft, clear voice is heard.

Simulated Voice (soundly):

“This is the way, walk ye in it.”

She continues the course, pivoting in sudden direction changes, avoiding obstacles, showing that she is following. In the midst of navigating the Rift-Storm, she slowly fades out with the haze of her memory as narration continues.

Jetti (calm and reflective):

"This Earth-based advanced training began soon after the Great Transition.”

Ulin fades in to Jetti’s fading silhouette, with the same synchronize movements, carrying on where she left off. The backdrop and environment of the arena begins to come into clear focus. The Rift-Storm’s rain, wind, and falling debris begin to slowly swell and amplify as the transition and narration continues.

Jetti (calm and reflective):

“Ulin was among the first to graduate and was recognized for his devout attentiveness that resulted in protecting another life.”

A streak of white light, like a sparkler’s light trail, travels speedily right to left along the bottom of the screen and brands the date 19T^1GPR in the bottom left hand corner. The Rift-Storm simulation roars to life with peak amplified ambiance and vividly-clear footage.
