SCENE 6

INT – EARTH: GOVERNMENT FACILITIES SPHERE: ENGINEERING ROOM

The camera cuts to Onizmo, working under the light off the lantern. He finishes putting new wire in the junction box. Showing an expression of relief, he moves to the PKD Unit to reconnect the motherboard.

Onizmo (feeling confident):

“Almost fixed."

Alden walks into the room with calm purpose and without urgency. He approaches Onizmo sympathetically but with divine authority.

Onizmo (feeling confident):

“No worries, I know what you're gonna say, but I've got it all taken care of."

Regent High Counselor Alden (walking back to the light switch by the door)

"You need some light to see clearly"

Onizmo (tapping on the lantern):

“This light may seem dim, but I'm one step away from getting everything back to square one.”

Alden flips the light switch up and the light comes on, revealing soot and debris left over from the fire. A drafting table sits along the wall near the door with only a FlareVox situated on top. A fire extinguisher lies on the floor with burnt computer hardware.

Regent High Counselor Alden (sternly)

"Onizmo, there are some things you are not seeing at all”

Onizmo takes a surprising moment for his eyes to adjust to the blinding light. He sets the motherboard down and rubs his eyes. Alden walks back over to Onizmo and picks up the motherboard. The camera captures a close-up of the sinister logo, which brand reads, “Vice".

Alden exudes wisdom, calmness, and compassion, with intent to help Onizmo recognize and resolve his inner conflicts more than his external conflicts. As Alden furrows his brow in grief and compassion, he waves the motherboard up and down, drawing attention to it.

Regent High Counselor Alden (Slowly emphasizing his point):

"The success of e-very-thing we do, all depends on and starts with the ri-ght mind-set. Everything, Onizmo.”

(The faulty mechanism is revealed. The motherboard, which represents the brain of a machine, has an anti-virtuous logo symbolically representing the corrupt carnal nature of the flesh. RadianLX upgrade is supposed to have an upgraded circuit board with the brand name “Virtue”.)

Onizmo, speechlessly grabbing his hair, trying to process everything.

Regent High Counselor Alden (Leaning in closer to Onizmo to bring additional clarification):

“You must be purposeful with all your actions, carefully contemplating your choices. You must learn discretion and discernment; and you must learn to utilize the spirit of sound mindedness.”

Onizmo, still speechless, puts his face in his hand in disbelief and disappointment while Alden talks to him. He nods in agreement when Alden finishes.

Alden hands Onizmo a Lumzargo (metal hand-held cargo carrier made for Lumz.) with 50 Lumz in it.

(A Lumzargo, or Zargo for short, unlocks and lifts open when it validates the user's access card. It is elsewise ‘military grade’ and indestructible. It holds 3 rows of 3 stacks of 10 Lumz, for a total of 90 Lumz: equivalent to a day's wage.)

Regent High Counselor Alden (handing Onizmo a Lumzargo):

“Use these Lumz to purchase the right brand from the Axum Hub”

Onizmo takes a deep breath as he takes the Lumzargo from Alden.

Onizmo (with a sigh):

“Ok.”

Onizmo stands up quickly and briskly walks out of the room, fully focused on the task at hand. The camera lingers momentarily on Onizmo, and then follows Alden as he walks over to the drafting table with a FlareVox on it. Alden proceeds to resume contact with Nezwen.

INT – UTOPIAN: GOVERNMENT FACILITIES SPHERE: PHOSPLEX

The camera cuts to Nezwen in the Phosplex.

Regent High Counselor Alden (Calm and matter of fact):

“Begin. Nezwen.”

Regent High Director Nezwen (Controlled Anticipation):

“I’m here Alden.”

INT – EARTH: GOVERNMENT FACILITIES SPHERE: ENGINEERING ROOM

The camera cuts to Alden in the Earth engineer room, looking and talking into the FlareVox. The corrupt motherboard is in view.

Regent High Counselor Alden:

“Everything has settled here. Your skilled apprentice may be in need of a little more oversight while learning how to navigate multiple options.”

INT – UTOPIAN: GOVERNMENT FACILITIES SPHERE: PHOSPLEX

The camera cuts to Nezwen in the Phosplex.

Regent High Director Nezwen (nodding to self with understanding):

“I’m glad he has you to counsel him. I will look into bringing on more oversight to reduce hazardous incidences. For now, let’s have Ulin accompany him.”

High Regent Counselor Alden:

“Thank you Nezwen. Good suggestion. They are good friends, so that should work out well for the time being. Let’s reconvene soon.”

Regent High Director Nezwen:

“Will do.”

Nezwen motions to exit radius while leaving the FlareVox on.
