SCENE 8

INT – EARTH: GOVERNMENT FACILITIES SPHERE: ENGINEERING ROOM

Onizmo sits close to the Radian system on a stool, focused, optimistic, and yet slightly nervous about the pending finishing results. Ulin reaches down and picks up the drafting table stool. Onizmo slowly, forcefully exhales as he screws together the last piece.

Onizmo (anxiously excited in an ascending tone):

“Almost there.”

A moment goes by and Onizmo sets down a tool. He reaches into the Radian hardware and connects the new mother-board, finishing the upgrade. With a quick forceful exhale, he nervously activates the power and the Avider lights up with a refreshing sound of the smooth-running motor of the Radian system.

RadianLX (following protocol):

“Startup success. Beginning upgrade sequence.”

Onizmo rejoices by throwing his arms high above his head. He looks up toward the ceiling and gives thanks

Onizmo (shouting with excitement):

“Thank you!”

Onizmo jumps to his feet and turns around to look at Ulin with exuding joy.

Onizmo (shouting with excitement):

“Ulin, we’ve got liftoff!”

Onizmo quickly turns back toward the Radian system and momentarily freezes as he watches the machine process, looking to see that it continues to work. A faint smile surfaces as his jaw mildly lowers. Stunned, he lets his own mind process the success.

Onizmo (with a quiet almost disbelief):

“Finally.”

Ulin looks at Onizmo, giving him a nod of approval.

Ulin (his voice grounded, with a touch of awe):“Good work. The Supreme’s always with us, guiding us through the process. What divine timing too.”

Onizmo (eyes scanning the newly activated RadianLX):

“Yes, and I am thankful. We should do something to celebrate!”

Onizmo glances at Ulin for a response. Ulin shakes his head no.

Ulin (teasing, yet serious):

“Celebration will have to wait because training starts soon.”

RadianLX (following protocol):

“Installing simulation assistance.”

Ulin points to the Radian system, emphasizing his point.

Ulin (with an amused grin):

“We’ve got a purpose.”

Onizmo smirks but understands Ulin’s seriousness.

Onizmo (grinning):

“Well, another time then, but we are definitely going for a celebratory meal.”

Ulin laughs softly, a quick, almost playful slap on Onizmo’s back as they move toward the door.

Ulin (lightly teasing):

“Agreed. C’mon Onizmo.”

They both grab their gym bags and leave in unison. Upon exiting, they close the door behind them. The Radian system announces:

RadianLX (following protocol):

“Simulation installation complete. Initiating sequence three: Connecting to Utopian RadianLX”

A sudden flash of blinding white light fills the room before the camera hard cuts to the back room of the Regian Library.
