INT – UTOPIAN: ACADEMIC SPHERE: REGIAN LIBRARY BACK ROOM

Regent Curator Dorien stands at the control console near the scanner holding a box of historical records that she had been transferring to the digital archives. She watches as the light of the BeamDex casing flickers as it comes to an abrupt halt accompanied by the sound of clanking crashing metal and a diminuendo of the BeamDex motor; leaving a dim glow and the faint sound of electrical frequency. Dorien tilts her head to the side and raises her eyebrows.

Regent Curator Dorien (Inquisitively followed by an amused laugh):

“hmm”

RadianLX (following protocol):

“Connection established.”

Regent Curator Dorien (Chuckling even toned amusement without sarcasm):

“Well, that was dramatic.”

RadianLX (following protocol):

“Restart ready. BeamDex full manual shutdown required.”

Dorian sets the archive box down on the flat surface of the BeamDex and moves to the manual power switch on the backside of the BeamDex.

Regent Curator Dorien (playfully followed by a chuckle):

“You just had to make a grand entrance.”

As Dorian reaches down for the BeamDex switch, another Radian voice fills the room.

RadianLX (faded warping and elongated overlapping echo):

“S….en..sor..y..”

Dorian flips the switch down.
